Professional Version Searches DOOR / BUILDING NUMBER
This search can be used on its own in order to return all the records at a particular number or in combination with other search fields such as Surname and Street. This allows you to narrow a search down to a small area. HOUSE / BUILDING NAME This can be used in a similar fashion to the above. Searching using a name can be useful when trying to locate a company. It is not
recommended that you search using a combination of Door number and House name as it is unlikely many results will be found. STREET This can be used in conjunction with the searches above or on its own. When entering a street do not forget to use the title, such as Lane, Road, Street etc. If you do not know the exact name or you wish to search any street in the UK you can use the Dictionary to obtain the name. USING THE TELEPHONE SEARCH BOX Although you cannot carry out a complete reverse search using a telephone number in UK-Info Disk 2001 you can use phone numbers as a filter in your searches. You are able to enter up to 7 numbers, which will allow the STD and area code. You will need to enter some additional search criteria in either the Surname of Company box in order to carry out a search.
SIC (STANDARD INDUSTRIAL CLASSIFICATION) CODE
All the companies on UK-Info Disk 2001 have an SIC code. This code is similar in definition to the LOB but is often used when specific classification is required in a format that is easy to use. SIC codes are numeric values. If you know a company's SIC code you can search for all companies matching a particular SIC Code just by inputting the SIC Code in to the SIC box. If you do not know the SIC
code use the Line of Business instead. If you currently use SIC codes make sure that they match up with the ones used in UK-Info Disk 2001. A list of the SIC codes is available on the Installation Disk in the SIC.doc document. NEIGHBOUR SEARCH Once you have returned a search on an individual you are then able to carry out a search to return their immediate neighbours within
the same street. To initiate the neighbour search Right click on a record in the results window and select Neighbour Search. LINK This search allows you to search for up to 10 people who are linked by specific criteria. Go back to UK-Info Disk
